We incorporate the use of evidence-based practice through the framework of Gestalt Therapy, Narrative Therapy, the use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques, within the scope of Experiential Therapy, whether in the Paddock, Counselling Room or Telehealth.

Individual Therapy – Mental Health Social Worker

Sessions are 55 minutes in duration.

Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative

With a GP referral, individuals receive a Medicare rebate for the first 10 sessions per year. You and your GP can work together to decide whether you are eligible for this type of plan.

Sessions received without a referral may be able to be claimed by private health care funds, please check if your provider covers Mental Health Social workers.

If you do not wish to, or are unable to obtain, an MHCP but still wish to obtain support from Healing Herd Therapies, fees are outlined below for sessions.

Sessions – $180.00 – Gap fee of $100.95 after Medicare rebate ($79.05)
Saturday session: $200.00 – Gap fee of $120.95 after Medicare rebate ($79.05)
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy/Therapy in the paddock: $200.00 – Gap fee of $120.95 after Medicare rebate ($79.05)

Healing Herd Therapies understands that not all people are in a financial position to be able to afford the out-of-pocket expenses of therapy limiting their access to some specialist and professional support. If this is out of your budget, please phone to discuss your level of affordability based on your current financial situation.

Please note there is a strict 24 hour notice cancellation policy and the cancellation fee is completely out of your pocket (i.e. it is not coverable by Medicare or a Third Party Provider).

Third Party Payments and Organisational Fees

Fees for organisations, insurance companies and third-party payment organisations are based on the current and recommended fees as set out by work cover Qld, victims assist Qld and NDIS.

Some Private Health Insurance that accepts Mental Health Social Workers
NDIS self-managed & plan managed
